Haslingden derives from Hazeldean or Valley of the Hazels. It lies 19 miles north of Manchester in the County of Lancashire. A area at one time noted in particular for its Stone, it also played a big part in the Woollen and then later Cotton Industries from the 18th and through the 19th and early to mid 20th Century... It is steeped in Local History and can also boast to have one of the most beautiful Natural Valleys around, where thousands come and visit annually

Duralay - Replica of Vintage Transport.. 1990's..
This is a photograph I took in the early 1990's of the "Duralay" van which was then parked up at the firm Durie & Millers (also has been named Lintafoam and now Interfloor) on Broadway. At that time is seemed to be the rage for firms to have replica old vans etc. I also remember at that time that Winfields Shoes had one also I think it was a sort of open air old bus and at weekends, they would give you free rides in their "open top" old bus or wagon......(click over photo to enlarge) Also note Sykeside Mill (now Tescos) with its leaning chimney in the background..
